July 16th, Helsinki Day
We experienced a ride around the city with Helsinki Expert’s Audio City Tour in Mandarin. This bus sightseeing tour takes about 1.5 hours. It is very convenient to see the most important sights of Helsinki, which including Helsinki cathedral and Senate Square, Uspenski Cathedral, central railway station and etc, short stop at Sibelius Park. We enjoyed the different architectural styles and unique history during 1.5 hours.
After the lunch at Kappeli restaurant, we took the ferry leave from Market Square to Suomenlinna which has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritages site. It is one of the world’s largest maritime fortress, also is one of Finland’s cultural treasures.
The industrious and brave people of Finland declared independence in 1971. The guns that still face west on the ramparts at Kustaanmiekka are a reminder of the period under Russian rule in the 19th century. Standing on the wall, I felt as if the people of this island, then Finland and the Russian experience of revolution
